Update November 28, 2011  South Bay Kids furniture is having the final two days of its going out of business sale, and plans to close on Wednesday, November 30th.

Below is our new Best Buys TV Show report, and as you can see in the TV report the store is loaded with high quality furniture that must be sold.  Young America by Stanley is a high quality line of furniture and you will see many fine bedrooms and individual pieces with this brand that are discounted up to 50% off regular retail prices.  This is truly high quality furniture that can be passed from one generation to another and desks, chests and dressers can serve through teenage years and even beyond.

As you watch the TV report and then visit the store, look for the new style bunk beds that feature a twin bed on top and a full size bed on the bottom.  There are also loft systems that include drawers, bookcases, desks along with the bed.  I was very impressed with what is called a "low loft" that is appropriate for kids 2 years to 8 years old that has a bed that is only three steps up a staircase that has drawers built in to the staircase.  And there are also drawers in the supports and a desk, and the desk is on casters so it can slide under the bed to increase floor space in the bedroom.  There is also space under the low loft bed that can be used for storage, for playthings, or even as a kid's play area or "hiding space."  Why didn't they have that when I was a kid?

The store is also located with traditional twin beds, dressers and tables and desks, and even though prices are already deeply discounted, the owner needs to clear out of this location by early November so they will accept offers below the price tags.

DESIGNER FURNITURE AUCTIONEERS IS NOW A FURNITURE MALL WITH NEW OPERATORS

Update December 1, 2011   Designer Furniture Auctioneers is now a furniture mall with at least four different companies now operating at its location.  I stopped by what used to be Designer Furniture Auctioneers yesterday and heard a sorrowful tale about how what was DFA failed, how employees were not paid, and how the remaining staff was struggling to liquidate remaining furniture to pay bills and back salaries.  And now, what was Designer Furniture Auctioneers is now a mini furniture mall shared by four different furniture companies at the location on South La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles.  I was unable to reach the owner of Designer Furniture Auctioneers to find out what happened and all the information I got was from the employees who remain working there.  For our report on the new furniture mall being started, please go to our "Furniture / LA Furniture Stores" page.

When you shop here you will say "I've never seen anything like this!"  And unless you have traveled back in time you haven't.  Olde Good Things describes itself as an architectural salvage company that rescues old building materials, old furniture and artifacts and creates stylish furniture that will fit any home.  These are, for the most part, unique and one-of-a-kind pieces that can be the centerpiece of any home.  You'll find copper that was rescued from old buildings in New York City that was fabricated into mirror frames and table lamps.  There are tables made from salvaged wood from buildings and from the boardwalk of a seaside resort.  Table legs are made from industrial legs for machines.  The wood from toppled rare mahogony trees was cut into table tops.  Church pews were shortened and made into benches that will fit into your home.  Window frames from landmark buildings were converted into mirror frames.  Fireplace mantles from suites in magnificent old hotels were rescued and can be installed in your home.  There are old refinished chairs from soda fountains.  You'll find iron gates that were turned into tables, and rescued wood filing cabinets that are almost a hundred years old, and old time factory carts that were converted into unique cocktail tables.  And you can dress up your home with original doorknobs from buildings built in the 19th century.

Leaders Superstore has two locations -- in Commerce and El Monte -- and it's a direct importer.  And with the economy the way it is, factories are cutting prices and Leaders is passing along the savings.  You will find deals on appliances and electronics and of course furniture.  Leaders has a giant department store that specializes in furniture for the entire home.  And to help families, there is instant credit available with zero interest financing available for those who qualify.  Leaders has its own financing plans so the credit is easier to get at Leaders.  You will also find prices cut as much as fifty-percent off, and in some cases there are bigger discounts.  The newest styles are all discounted.

Designers Bloopers has always been one of my favorite furniture stores and over the years I showed you their deals and bargains on the news and now I am proud to have them on my Best Buys TV Show.  Watch TV reports below for an idea about their inventory and pricing, but remember these reports are from many months ago.

You can easily save fifty percent off or more on fine custom furniture only because there was a minor error in the design.  Oh, it's a minor error to you and me, but to the client it was a disaster!  The inventory changes all the time, because goofs are made all the time.  And for the most part you are getting one-of-a-kind custom pieces here.  Fact is, when you buy a blooper, it's unlikely anyone else in the world has the the same thing.  You will also find factory samples and canceled orders, and some overproduction.
