ALTMANS WINNEBAGO HAS
CLOSED
Update August 17,
2011 I reported about and recommended Altmans Winnebago in Carson for years and now Altmans is out of business.
I am now looking for a new RV dealer and maintenance center.
Their showroom and lot in Carson is empty and a "closed" message appears on their
electronic sign, yet when I called Altmans at (877) ALTMANS I got a voice mail system that asked me
to leave a message and made no mention that the dealership and service center are closed. Their website at www.Altmans.com had their closing information.
Below
is some of what Joe Altman told me when I asked him to confirm they were closing and you can see some of my TV reports from
the past below Joe's email to me several weeks ago when I first was told they were closing.
It's
true. About 3 weeks ago we made the very difficult decision to begin to wind down our dealership operations. Our family has experienced 40 years of great and challenging
times and current market conditions suggest it’s time to end this chapter of our business.
There have been so many wonderful relationships built over the
years and, quite frankly, the one we’ve enjoyed with you and your program has been remarkable.
In my own way I can truly say I've touched the stars!
We have stopped all dealership
functions except our vehicle sales and are offering everything at big discounts off retail just to turn them into cash. The
exact timing of our final days is still uncertain but will be based on liquidating our inventory and closing up our business
relationships and it looks like June 30th will be our final day.
