Before
Alan started to host and produce the Best Buys TV Show with Axis Media, Alan Mendelson was the Business and Consumer News
reporter for KCAL-TV from October 1990 to October 2006. He then joined Creative Services Advertising in Los Angeles
to produce and host infomercials on TV stations around the country. Alan was with CSA until mid-2008. He started his
television news career in 1973 in Syracuse, New York.
He
has worked for CBS Network News in New York as well as for TV stations in Miami, Florida and Syracuse, New York, and of course
Los Angeles. Alan is known as a consumer reporter and consumer advocate and as "the money man" for his financial
reporting. He is the author of many magazine articles about economics and personal finance for many publications including
The Columbia Journalism Review, The Washington Journalism Review, Barrons and New York Magazine. Alan has also provided
public relations and marketing services to many major corporations, and is considered to be an expert at Internet marketing
including search engine optimization and search engine management.
He
is best known for his best buys TV shows and reports that highlighted deals and shopping and financial tips for viewers.
His reporting on TV and radio in Los Angeles for nearly two decades led to the start of MoreDeals.com in 1999.
Alan has also had his share of public service, and was appointed as
Chairman of the Citizens Advisory Committee on Tax Reform to the Rockland County, New York, County Legislature when he lived
in New York in the 1970's.
He has won many awards
including an Emmy, a Janus Award from the Mortgage Bankers Association, many Golden Microphone awards from the Los Angeles
Radio and TV News Association, and many awards from the Greater Los Angeles Press Club. He was a founding member of the Economics
News Broadcasters Association and served as its President as well as a Board of Directors member for many years.
Alan is married and lives in West Los Angeles with his wife
Shelley. He has two children: Jason is a camera man and video editor on the Best Buys TV Show and Marisa is a TV news
reporter and anchor in Oklahoma City.

Our business was founded in 2008 when we decided
to broadcast Alan Mendelson's Best Buys, similar to the Best Buys show that Alan hosted as a special news report on KCAL
TV going back to the early 1990's. And before Alan created the Best Buys specials on KCAL, Alan created his Best Buys
news reports on WTVJ in Miami back in the early 1980's.
